I have finally moved Krystle’s blog from blogspot to www.kryblings.com using wordpress 2.2.2. Well I kept my promise :).
Krystle has been blogging for over 2 years now so she will get acquainted with wordpress faster than myself. I came up with the domain name by combining the first 3 characters of her name (kry) and the last 5 characters of the word scribblings (blings) - kryblings.
My advice to anyone of you who is thinking about starting a new blog is to have it hosted on your own domain name straightaway because as soon as you move the blog you will lose all back links and Page Rank.
I have used the new import functionality available in wordpress to import posts from blogspot however I was having problems to securely authenticate with google. My quick and dirty solution was to create a temporary blog on wordpress.com and import the posts from there. Then I exported the posts and imported them again on her wordpress database.
