Where to dig for diamonds?

After watching Blood Diamond movie (which I have to say that it is a must-see movie), I decided to google up conflict diamond mines. For those of you who do not know what a conflict diamond is - it is a diamond mined in a war zone and sold, usually clandestinely, in order to finance an insurgent, invading army’s war efforts or for warlord-like activity. (Conflict Diamonds United Nations Department of Public Information, March 21, 2001, accessed online December 26, 2006).

What I found interesting in my search about diamond mines, which by the way has nothing to do with blood diamonds, is that in US there is the World’s only diamond site (called crater of diamonds state park) where you can search and keep what you find. Have a look at this if you are interested in digging for diamonds. The total Diamonds Found in July 2007 was 90 and in 2006, a total of 488 diamonds were found :) Who knows you might be lucky.
