I’m more of a traditionalist when it comes to anything related to GUI in that I prefer to leave out-of-the-box GUI settings! My excuse is that it would be easier for me to work on other machines that have the default settings.
However, lately I have made an exception to this rule when I researched for the ideal programming fonts and color schemes. Here is a list of the best fonts to use with your source code editor. I have also found out a site with a bunch of IDE schemes for visual studio. If you are more of a traditionalist like me, you might like Jeff’sVisual Studio UI settings. It’s very easy to try them out. Go to Tools > Import and export settings and import the settings from there. It’s very easy to rollback if you don’t like. It’s worth a try!
